Helping Adults in Colorado, Texas, & Virginia
If you’re carrying pain from childhood—guilt, anxiety or people-pleasing, I offer trauma-informed therapy to help you feel safe, grounded, and whole again.
Feeling Stuck in Old Patterns? You’re Not Alone.
If you grew up in a dysfunctional or emotionally immature family, the past might still feel like it's shaping your present. You may find yourself constantly second-guessing decisions, over-explaining, or feeling guilty just for setting the smallest boundary.
Many of my clients come to me struggling with:
Guilt and pressure
Feeling responsible for everyone else’s emotions, especially in toxic family dynamics
A deep sense of unworthiness
No matter how much you achieve, it never feels like enough
Emptiness or numbness
Going through life on autopilot, feeling disconnected from who you really are
Fear of abandonment
Silencing your needs just to keep people from leaving
You might be wondering: Will I ever get better?
You are not Broken.
You Deserve to Enjoy Your Life!
You’ve been carrying beliefs and patterns that once helped you survive, but no longer serve you.
Therapy is about releasing that guilt and self-doubt, so you can step into confidence, trust your intuition, and create relationships that feel healthy and safe.
In our work together, you can begin to:
Set boundaries without guilt or fear
Respond differently in triggering situations
Trust yourself and feel confident in your decisions
Reconnect with your emotions and feel more present
Build relationships based on mutual respect—not obligation

Meet Your Therapist, I’m Carolina
Healing isn’t quick, but it is possible.
I help adults heal from childhood trauma by building a real, trusting relationship—where we work together to break old patterns, restore confidence, and create peace in the present.
I’m not a quick-fix therapist. I don’t just focus on symptom relief.
I go deep. This isn’t surface-level talk therapy, it’s real healing.
That means gently returning to the past to rescue the younger you who’s still carrying pain. Together, we’ll explore your story with compassion and courage.
I’ll help you look at your life in a new way, so you feel empowered, whole, and in control of your future.
Your foundation is not your fate.
My Approach to Healing Childhood Trauma
-
1. Deep & Lasting Change Starts With Weekly Sessions
We begin with weekly 50-minute sessions for at least 3–6 months. This consistency helps you stay focused and create real momentum.
We go deeper than surface-level venting.
You make progress faster and feel unstuck sooner
You don’t get lost in overwhelm between sessions
When you're ready, we’ll shift to biweekly. My goal is always your healing, not keeping you in therapy forever.
-
2. A Safe, Trusting Relationship Is the Foundation
True healing begins when you feel safe, seen, and heard in therapy. I create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can:
Open up without fear
Make sense of what happened to you
Build a strong therapeutic bond that leads to lasting change
When trust is strong, deeper emotional work becomes possible—and progress happens faster.
-
3. Heal Your Inner Child and Learn to Love Yourself
Many adult struggles stem from unmet childhood needs. Inner child work helps you release shame and reconnect with your true self.
Let go of guilt, self-judgment, and people-pleasing
Become your own safe, nurturing parent
Set healthy boundaries and stop repeating toxic patterns
Stop seeking external validation, you’ll feel empowered from within
We’ll use journaling, inner dialogue, and visualization to support this deep healing.
-
4. Understand Inner Conflicts and Find Peace
If you feel torn—craving closeness but needing distance—Parts Work helps you make peace with those inner divides.
Recognize the “parts” of you that carry different emotions
Integrate them, so you feel emotionally balanced
Step into self-leadership and respond with intention, not old reactions
This brings calm, clarity, and a grounded sense of self.
-
5. Release Trauma With EMDR Therapy
Once you feel stable and supported, we’ll use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to safely process trauma.
Reduce emotional distress more quickly than traditional talk therapy
Shift negative self-beliefs and restore your self-worth
Heal attachment wounds
Stop emotional reactivity and feel more in control
With EMDR, you won’t just talk about trauma—you’ll process and release it, so it no longer defines you.
-
You’re Ready for This!
If you’re reading this, part of you already knows it’s time.
You’ve done the best you could with the tools you had. But you don’t have to keep carrying this alone.
Therapy is a space where you can finally put down the guilt, the fear, the second-guessing—and start building a life that actually feels like yours.
If you're ready to feel safe in your own mind, body, and relationships, I’d be honored to walk that path with you.
FAQ: Childhood Trauma Therapy
For more information visit my Rates and FAQ page or you can contact me with more questions.
What does childhood trauma therapy actually look like?
In our sessions, we don’t just talk about the past—we work with it. I help you explore the emotional patterns and beliefs that started in childhood but are still affecting your adult life. Using tools like EMDR and inner child work, we process pain and build emotional safety.
Can I start therapy if I don’t remember everything from my childhood?
Yes. You don’t need detailed memories to begin healing. We focus on how your past is showing up in the present—through emotions, relationships, or self-worth. That’s where the healing begins.
What’s the difference between trauma therapy and regular talk therapy?
Talk therapy often stays at the surface. Trauma therapy, like the work we do here, goes deeper, working with the nervous system, emotional memories, and old beliefs that are still driving your reactions. It’s more structured, and more focused on true change.
How long does trauma therapy take to work?
Everyone’s journey is different, but most clients work with me weekly for 3–6 months to start. We go at your pace, but with purpose, focusing on lasting change, not quick fixes. When you’re ready, we can move to biweekly sessions.
Is EMDR the right fit for childhood trauma?
Yes—EMDR is one of the most effective methods for processing unresolved childhood trauma. It helps reduce emotional distress, rewire negative self-beliefs, and restore a sense of inner peace—without needing to relive everything in detail.
It’s Time To Stop Carrying This Alone
If you're ready to stop second-guessing yourself, set real boundaries, and finally feel peace in your own skin—I'm here to help.
This work is deep, but you're not doing it alone. I’ll walk with you every step of the way.
